Hello and welcome to my logbook for The Music Producer: From Brass to Beats! I begin this class with nothing but a passion for songwriting and some meagre self-taught garageband skills. I’m hoping to learn some techniques to further my songwriting and personal recording as well as some of the history and theory behind music production. I particularly would like to learn some skills that could translate my very folky songs into different genres like electronic pop and RnB. Using software instruments is of particular interest in this vein, as well as how to make an electronic drum beat sound good. I’m excited to see what kind of knowledge my classmates have too!
